There are so many people or things which influence us on daily basis. Most of them we forget and just carry on their influence in our behavior unconsciously, then there are some which are already similar to us but we deny and try to run away from the people,
Long time ago I had started watching a highly dramatized series called Gossip Girl. Those who don’t know, it is about bunch of elite kids and their solvable but seemingly not solvable problems to them. Eventually I got tired of the drama and gave up watching until some weeks ago, my old friend with whom I used to watch it, messaged me. Her message was totally unrelated but she and absence of drama in my life reminded, may be now I should see how the series ended and who was finally the Gossip Girl. Turns out finding out gossip girl was not really important, although finding out which character I was similar to and not accepting that till now was!
I always thought I related myself with the girl character such as Blair. However gender is not important here. Wonder why I am writing about a drama show? Sometimes in my experience absolutely vain things also happen to teach you about self. For me it was Chuck Bass to whom I find myself similar. He is dark and ambitious character in his own weird way. Though shown as hedonistic billionaire has always inclined his love for one girl, Blair. He had so many schemes up his sleeves to get her but also left her at appropriate times to make her own choices even if she wanted to marry someone else.
Chuck Bass is not a character from whom you would learn something or feel good after he does something moral which he doesn’t ever but he could be an excellent example of self acceptance. It is not a question of being rich or poor. Accepting self as rich is also hard as accepting self as poor. There is always a richer one than rich person. Humans always wish for more and more and that’s how classes in society are created. All other rich kids in the series believe themselves to be good and moral and at the same time do terrible things to each other on a small trigger whereas Chuck Bass accepts he is evil and nevertheless does things to get what he wants.
Though I am not supporter of making someone suffer, I support his view to see things as they are , world is empty.
You can never win over your demons but manage them for your own use while making them not harm others and self. Eventually Blair also comes back to him after successfully starting her business and trusting herself.
