Prithvi Mandala is a multi-layered meditation on Earth’s diverse landscapes and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. The painting unfolds from an innermost core of concrete civilization through successive rings representing vegetated farmlands, muddy coastal waters, and finally the outermost desert of fine sand and dunes.
Four golden gates mark the cardinal directions, symbolizing Earth’s precious offerings. This visual journey moves from human-made environments outward to pristine wilderness, inviting viewers to expand their perspective from urban confines to the vast, untamed beauty of our planet’s most elemental landscapes.
“Through Prithvi Mandala, I explore Earth as both sanctuary and challenge. Each concentric layer represents a different relationship with the ground beneath us—from the concrete we build upon to the desert sands that existed long before us. The golden gates remind us that Earth provides all we treasure, while the visual journey from center outward reflects my belief that true stability comes from reconnecting with nature’s expanding rhythms rather than retreating into our constructed worlds.”
